Come see the North Side light up during the Christmas Lighting Ceremony on Henry Street!

Christmas lights across the city’s main shopping districts on the north side, including Henry St and Talbot St, will illuminate the skies as of tomorrow night, November 17th.

Here’s some information

We have reviewed the feedback from the public who attended the Grafton Street Lighting Ceremony with requests for the lights to be switched on earlier to avoid waiting time for families. As a result of this the Henry Street event will now run in a new format meaning the timing and staging set up has been altered.

The lighting ceremony event for Henry Street this Thursday (Tomorrow) November 17th, has now been shortened and will start at 5pm with entertainment and the button to switch on the lights being pressed at approximately 5.30pm. Given the new stage setup and changes to the production, The Riptide Movement will now not be in a position to perform the way they initially envisaged, and so will not be appearing on the night but we look forward to working with them again for future events.

The line-up for this Thursday is as follows: 98FM’s Cooper & Luke as MC’s, The Swing Cats, Glenn&Ronan (who performed with Adele) and Santa!

Access

Access to the Henry Street Christmas lights switch on event will be via Liffey St and O’Connell St. There will be no access via lower Mary St/Jervis St except for disabled access. Public attending the event by Luas should disembark at the Jervis Stop but enter via Liffey St. and not through the shopping centre.
