Dame District

The Dame District is located just behind Dame Street and parallel to George’s street, and including Dame St, Westmoreland St & D’Olier St, has become an epicentre for socialising in Dublin Town.

It is also part of Dublin’s prestigious Purple Flag area. There are ten supporting establishments located in the Dame District: The Bankers, The Exchequer, Odessa, The Mercantile, The Stags Head, 4 Dame Lane, Dame Tavern, RíRá/The Globe, Speak Easy and Sweeney’s.

The Dame District has become an established brand and an example of how businesses can mutually benefit from coming together and cross promoting. There is significantly less antisocial behaviour reported in the Dame District compared to similar locations in the city.

The T-junction at Dame Court is the perfect place to head for a night out on the town, any night of the week, for quality live music, comedy, fantastic eateries and clubbing. In winter, for 10 days leading up to Christmas, the district transforms into a Christmas Wonderland with all the very best of Crafts, Music, Arts, Food, Drinks, a Vintage Carousel and a Santa’s Grotto, with live entertainment every night.
