The Dublin Lunar New Year Festival

Written by Damon Blake on January 19 2023 Posted in Updates

The Dublin Lunar New Year Festival is a Dublin City Council Arts Office initiative that takes place each year at the end of January. DublinTown has supported this festival since its inception.

The Dublin Lunar New Year festival strives to broaden and grow its engagement with all communities that celebrate the Lunar New Year – which includes communities from China, Vietnam, South Korea, North Korea, Mongolia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.

We have been approached by some business members to support their endeavours for the festival with some on street activity on January 29th 2023, from 12pm to 5pm.

This will be a family friendly daytime celebration on both sides of the city (Drury Street Dublin 2 & Capel Street Dublin 1). It is proposed that the activity will include local businesses stalls, on street demonstrations, Asian music performers, dragon & lion dance and face-painting for kids (etc).

If you would be interested in getting involved, please email and let us know, we will follow up with the relevant support.
