Speakers

Alice Charles, Director, Arup (formally the World Economic Forum).

In their role as a Director at Arup, Alice Charles is responsible for integrated Cities, Planning & Design and is focused on cross cutting urban strategies (sustainability, climate change, resilience, mobility) globally.

Previously she held the position of Lead Cities, Infrastructure & Urban Services for the World Economic Forum.

At our seminar Alice will share her international perspective in the area of sustainability in cities and will outline some international responses to climate change.

Dr Roddy Yarr CEnv MIEMA FRSA, Executive Lead for Sustainability, Strathclyde University Glasgow.

Dr Roddy Yarr is a sustainability expert responsible for the development and delivery of climate change and social responsibility initiatives that address the University’s response to net zero and sustainability issues across all its operational assets in west central Scotland.

At our seminar Roddy will speak about a sustainable energy project involving the city of Glasgow and the River Clyde. Belfast city is also considering a similar project using the River Lagan. Could this project be replicated in Dublin city with the River Liffey?

Dearbhla Stapleton, Programme Manager, Business and Industry at Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).

Dearbhla Stapleton is responsible for designing, developing and delivering supports to businesses looking to reduce their energy use and decarbonise their activities.

At our seminar they will discuss supports available to businesses from SEAI.
