Current Roadworks & Temporary Road Closures

A request has been received from GMC Utility Group for the temporary closure of the following street to facilitate Luas Cross City  works:

• Molesworth Street (from Dawson Street to Molesworth Place), Dublin 2 from 00.00hrs on Monday 3rd November 2014 to 24.00hrs on Friday 5th December 2014.

Traffic Management Plan

• Traffic on Dawson Street wishing to travel on Molesworth Street will be diverted via Nassau Street and Kildare Street.
• Traffic on Molesworth Street and Molesworth Place wishing to travel on Nassau Street will be diverted via Frederick Street South.
• Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

O’Connell Street, Dublin 1.

A request has been received from The City Council’s Events Unit for the temporary closure of the following street to facilitate the

Christmas tree lighting ceremony:

• O’Connell Street, Dublin 1 from 14.00hrs to 20.00hrs on Sunday 30th November 2014.

• Southbound Buses and taxis on Parnell Square East and Cavendish Row wishing to access D’Olier Street will be diverted via Parnell Street, Marlborough Street, and Eden Quay.
• Traffic on Parnell Street and Marlborough Street wishing to access D’Olier Street via Cathal Brugha Street will be diverted via Seán MacDermott Street Upper, Gardiner Street Lower, Beresford Place, Memorial Road, Memorial Bridge, Georges Quay and Burgh Quay.
• Northbound traffic on O’Connell Bridge wishing to access Parnell Street will be diverted via Eden Quay, Beresford Place and Gardiner Street Lower.
• Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

• On race day, Monday 27th October 2014 from 08.55 to 16.45 hrs, rolling road closures (managed by the Garda) will take place along the Marathon route: Fitzwilliam Place, Leeson Street, St. Stephen’s Green South, Cuffe Street, Kevin Street, The Coombe, Meath Street, Thomas Street, High Street, Lord Edward Street, Essex Quay, Merchant’s Quay, Usher’s Quay, Usher’s Island, Victoria Quay, Frank Sherwin Bridge, Parkgate Street, Phoenix Park, Chapelizod, Inchicore Road, South Circular Road, Crumlin/Drimnagh/Walkinstown Roads, Kimmage Road West, Fortfield Road, Templeogue Road, Terenure Road East, Orwell Road, Dartry Road, Milltown Road, Clonskeagh Road, Stillorgan Road, Nutley Lane, Merrion Road, Shelbourne Road, Haddington Road, Northumberland Road, Mount Street Lower and Merrion Square.
• South city traffic from Stillorgan Road wishing to access City Centre, will be diverted via Mount Merrion Avenue, Rock Road, Merrion Gates, Strand Road, Beach Road, Irishtown Road, Ringsend Road and Pearse Street.
• North city traffic from Finglas Road and Ballymun Road, wishing to access City Centre, will be diverted via Whitworth Road, Dorset Street and Gardiner Street.
• Traffic diversions will vary as the race proceeds.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained.

KD Mechanical Engineers intends to close the following street to facilitate crane lift operations:

• Foley Street, Dublin 1 from 07.00hrs to 18.00hrs on Saturday 4th October 2014.

Traffic Management

• Traffic on James Joyce Street wishing to travel on Foley Street to Buckingham Street Upper will be diverted via Gloucester Place Lower and Sean Mac Dermott Street Lower.
• Local access from James Joyce Street to Foley Street, Beaver Street and Buckingham Street Lower will be maintained.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained.

 New Wapping Street, Dublin 1.

Dublin City Council’s Project Management Office intends to close the following road closure of the following road facilitate major drainage construction works:

• New Wapping Street (from Sherriff Street Upper to Mayor Street Upper), Dublin 1 from 0.00hrs on Tuesday 5th August to 24.00hrs on Friday 24th October 2014.

• Traffic travelling east or west on North Wall Quay wishing to travel on New Wapping Street to Sheriff Street Upper will be diverted via Castleforbes Road.
• Traffic travelling east or west on Sheriff Street Upper wishing to travel on New Wapping Street to North Wall Quay will be diverted via Castleforbes Road.
• Traffic travelling south on East Road wishing to travel south on New Wapping Street to North Wall Quay will be diverted via Sheriff Street Upper and Castleforbes Road.
• Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.
