  • Tue 09 June, 2020

Outdoor Tables and Chairs

DublinTown have been liaising with Dublin City Council in regards to outdoor tables and chairs. We have lobbied on your behalf and can confirm that fees will be waived for 6 months.

As such, Dublin City Council are now inviting applications from businesses regarding use of outside tables and chairs in the public realm.

All applications will be assessed from a public health, fire safety and public circulation point of view.

Dublin City Council will be facilitating the use of the public realm for expanded street furniture provision as part of Phase 3 of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions starting from June 29th.

Applications can be made at https://consultation.dublincity.ie/traffic-and-transport/covid-mobility-measure-request-form/

Where permission is granted for tables and chairs, there will be no charge for a period of 6 months, with businesses who have already paid for 2020 receiving a 6 month credit in 2021.

Dublin City Council have asked for businesses not to have furniture in the public realm as of yet. At this phase of the restrictions, cafes/restaurants are advised to only offer a takeaway service.
