Dublin City Council: Waste Management Update

  • Fri 08 March, 2024

Dublin City Council have requested we share the following letter with businesses regarding waste presentation and collection for the city centre:

WASTE PRESENTATION WITHIN DUBLIN CITY CENTRE

Your business is situated within the Central Commercial District of Dublin City. In the effort to support a better experience for those who live, visit and work in our City, we would ask that you take note of the following obligations and requests with regard to your Waste Presentation and Storage.

As you are aware, bagged presentation of waste causes many issues in our city.

We would ask that where you have space within your business curtilage you accommodate traditional Wheelie bins. If only one can be stored, a brown food bin should be accommodated. Your private waste collector will provide one on your request.

The Dublin City Council Bye-Laws for the Storage, Presentation and Segregation of Household and Commercial Waste 2018 state that your business must:

  • Only present waste in a public area after 5pm on your designated collection day and remove your container or any uncollected waste by 10am the following day.
  • Storage of containers should be held within the curtilage of your premises outside of the presentation times.

Enforcement Provisions are included in the Waste Bye Laws and we would ask for your compliance with the above.

Kind Regards,

Waste Management Services
