The Night-time Economy Stakeholder Consultation Process
Catherine Martin T.D., Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media established the Night-time economy Taskforce on 30 July 2020. The Taskforce consists of representatives from across a range of Government Departments, agencies and groups and they are tasked with developing policy recommendations and practical measures for an emergent, vibrant and sustainable night-time culture and economy.
What is Night-time culture and economy?
Some of the most exciting cultural and creative activities can and do happen at night. The night-time economy can range from a trip to the theatre, supporting your team at an evening soccer match, going to see the next up and coming DJ or band, visiting an exhibition, shopping, socialising with friends, engaging in family activities – the possibilities are endless. The Taskforce is currently open to all interpretations and activities for a range of different age-groups. The challenge now is to unlock the benefits for citizens and visitors of a vibrant Night-time Economy.
