Luas Cross City Traffic Information
Due To Utility Works 24th November 2014
To facilitate works required for the Luas Cross City Utilities contract in the environs of Parnell Street and Dorset Street an additional access route to the ILAC car park has been provided. Traffic will be permitted to turn right from Parnell Street, eastbound, and into the ILAC car park
Traffic travelling from the west (Church Street / North King Street)
• From Bolton Street turn right onto King’s Inns Street
• Continue straight on King’s Inns Street and at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Parnell Street
• Turn right from Parnell Street into ILAC car park
Traffic travelling from the east (Dorset Street)
• On Dorset Street Lower, continue straight through the junctions with Gardiner Street and Hardwicke Place and onto Dorset Street Upper
• Continue straight on Dorset Street Upper through the junction with Dominick Street Upper / Lower onto Bolton Street
• At the next junction turn left onto King’s Inns Street
• Continue straight on King’s Inns Street and at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Parnell Street
• Turn right from Parnell Street into ILAC car park
Closure of Right-turn from Parnell Square East to Parnell Street
To facilitate works required for the Luas Cross City Utilities contract on Parnell Street it will be necessary to change traffic movements in the area. For a period of 1 week from 24th November 2014, traffic will not be permitted to turn right from Parnell Square East to Parnell Street. To facilitate access to Parnell Street, west of O’Connell Street, the following diversions will be in place.
Traffic accessing Parnell Street, west of O’Connell Street, from Parnell Square
- Traffic on Parnell Square North should continue straight through the junction with North Fredrick Street /Parnell Square East and onto Gardiner Row
- Continue straight on Gardiner Row and Denmark Street
- Turn right at the next set of traffic lights onto Hill Street
- Continue along Hill Street
- Turn right onto Parnell Street
Traffic accessing Parnell Street, west of O’Connell Street, from Temple Street:
- Traffic on Temple Street should continue straight through the junction with Gardiner Place and onto Hill Street
- Continue along Hill Street
- Turn right onto Parnell Street
Traffic accessing Parnell Street, west of O’Connell Street, from Gardiner Place:
- Traffic on Gardiner Place should turn left onto Hill Street
- Continue along Hill Street
- Turn right onto Parnell Street
Traffic diversion signs will be in place for the duration of these works.

We are opposed to the scheduling and traffic impacts of these works and have raised our objections with Luas Cross City.

Marlborough Street
- From Value for U at the corner of North Earl Street to Carthy Jewellers at Cathedral Street. This site is on the West side of the street.
- From Spire Hostel at Marlborough Place down to Sackville Place on the west side of the Street also.
Parnell Street
- There will be a cessation of works on Parnell Street for Operation Open City with the exception for the footpath area adjacent to the Rotunda and on the north side of the street east of O’Connell Street. Please note that two traffic lanes will be maintained at all times.
Dominick Street Lower
There will be work sites on Dominick Street Lower north of Dominick Lane
Dominick Street/Bolton Street Junction
- This junction will be returned to normal operation by 22nd December 2014
Dominick Street Upper
There will be work sites on Dominick Street Upper
